Hey guys! so my host family doesn't have internet, which if you really know me, you know it is KILLING me!! But i have been here for like 3 weeks now and everything is going okay? I got attacked by mosquitos my first night... 35 on one hand!!
Arabic is eating my face... it is sooo hard! It makes me tired just thinking of it but when I leave language class i go to my host family and all they speak is Arabic!! And then i just give them a blank stare and say in english "i don't know what that means" and then they yell it louder at me... my host family also found out that I am very ticklish. They poke me all the time. OH and there soul mission for the time i stay with them is to make me fat. This isn't just something i think they are doing... they tell people that they need to make me bigger. They tell me to "coolie" which is eat all the time... even when i say i am done "hamdulila" or "shaibana" they say no and take my spoon and put the food in my mouth. I think they just might succeed in there mission.
All of my fellow peace corpers are super awesome and sassy. We have a lot of fun.
The other day my family gave me two pieces of cake for breakfast but I was also running late for class to i speed walked to school but also had to finish my cake. Nothing has made me feel more fat than being out of breath from run/walking to school while shoving cake into my mouth.
OH and there are soooo many stray cats here! They are so cute but not very nice. And i saw camels and goats and sheep and bunnies and pigeons (one which was picked up and thrown at my friends head... hehe) and chickens and roosters. A lot of animals.
It is already getting cold here and I have already been laughed at by the jordanians about how many layers i am already wearing. Little do they know i have many bigger and more layery layers I haven't even taken out of my suitcase yet!
I taught my host family the macarena and many other american dances such as the sprinkler and the shopping cart.
okay that was just a bunch of random things that have happened to me over the past couple of weeks. I love you all and miss you guys so much!!
oh and i saw a circumcision in my living room on my second day... okay bai love you mean it!
XOXO
Laura
